Presbyterian Hospital, Agogo – affectionately known as PreHA – is one of Ghana’s oldest and most respected mission hospitals. Established on March 21, 1931 by the Basel Mission, our hospital has grown from a modest clinic to a 250-bed regional referral center, serving over 500,000 people across Asante Akim North and beyond.

Outpatient

Outpatient

The OPD is the first point of contact for patients. We run general outpatient clinics every weekday where doctors see patients for common ailments, follow-up visits, and initial assessments. Services include consultation rooms, vital signs station, and a triage system to prioritize severe cases. Our OPD handles everything from malaria and fever cases to chronic disease management, serving hundreds of patients daily.

Maternity

Maternity

Our Maternity Department is a cornerstone of the hospital, dedicated to women’s health. It includes an Antenatal Clinic (for pregnancy check-ups, ultrasounds, and education), a Labor & Delivery Unit (with delivery suites and a neonatal corner), and a Postnatal ward. We handle normal deliveries as well as complex obstetric cases (e.g., C-sections, high-risk pregnancies).

Accident & Emergency

Accident & Emergency

Our Emergency Department operates 24/7, ready to handle urgent and life-threatening cases. The A&E has emergency physicians and nurses on duty around the clock. We have resuscitation bays, emergency procedure rooms, and an ambulance service. From road accident injuries to acute illnesses, the A&E provides rapid stabilization and treatment. Critical cases are given immediate attention, and if needed, admitted for further care. (In case of any emergency, please dial our emergency line or bring the patient directly to our A&E.)

Laboratory & Diagnostics

Laboratory & Diagnostics

The hospital’s Diagnostics Department includes a Medical Laboratory, Radiology/Imaging Unit, and Blood Bank. Our lab is well-equipped to conduct a range of tests – blood tests, urine and stool analysis, microbiology cultures, and more – providing critical information for diagnoses.

Public Health Unit

Public Health Unit

Preventive care and community health are part of our mission. The Public Health Unit coordinates immunization programs (routine vaccinations for children, tetanus for pregnant women, etc.), disease surveillance, and health education campaigns. .
