The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Very Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante, paid a working visit to the Presbyterian Hospital, Agogo, and the Presbyterian Nursing and Midwifery Training School on May 16, 2019. He was accompanied by Mr. Sam Sarpong Appiah (Health Coordinator, PCG) and Rev. Daniel Asante (Director of Development and Social Services, PCG).
The Moderator, on his arrival, met the Management and Unit Heads of the Hospital and the Nursing and Midwifery Training College. The General Manager gave a transitory presentation on the state of the hospital and the college which included the finances, staff strength, services provided, achievements, challenges and way forward.
The Moderator commended the management and staff for their hard work and urged them to sustain the high standards. He further indicated that the hospital is one of the greatest assets of PCG, hence, he has the task to make it a shining star. By this commitment, he asked management to inquire the cost involved in training an ENT specialist and the acquisition of a digital X-ray machine, a Chemistry Analyser and a Phototherapy machine. He emphasised that management should submit other needs of the Hospital and College to his office for consideration.
Addressing the staff and students at a durbar, he admonished them to be disciplined, dress decently, and keep the environment clean. He also pledged to register one hundred (100) people who have not subscribed to the National Health Insurance Scheme quarterly as a way of relieving the Hospital of huge debt deficit by clients purported to be poor or underprivileged. Rev. Daniel Asante (DDSS) on behalf of the Moderator, announced that the Presbyterian Church of Ghana would launch a sanitation programme soon.
