Charities, led by Kwame Sefa Kayi on
July 27, 2019 donated two (2) incubators to the Presbyterian Hospital
Asante-Akim Agogo. Presenting the
incubators, Mr. Sefa Kayi mentioned, Kwadwo
Baah Agyemang, Hon. Board Chairman, National Sports
Authority and Kofi Serebour, an entrepreneur
and CEO of KROS Energy Ghana Ltd were highlyinstrumental and influential in the acquisition and donation of
the two incubators to the hospital . Both are natives of Agogo, Asante-Akim.
The two (2)
incubators worth Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) each, came at the time the
hospital was in dire need of them. The
hospital has been depending on improvised incubators for quite a long time and
were functioning with some challenges. As
a referral centre, the donated incubators will go a long way to amply serve our
facility and other satellite ones in about 500 adjoining communities that the
hospital serves. Also, it will minimise the mortality
rate of pre-term babies.
donation was well received by Dr William N. A. Thompson, Medical Administrator
of Presbyterian Hospital Agogo, Dr. Lawrence Osei Tutu and Dr. Mrs. Kotoh-Mortty
both Paediatricians. Dr. Thompson
thanked the entire Kokrokoo Charities Team, the Donors and the facilitators on
behalf of the General Manager and the entire hospital. He assured the team, their donation would be
put to good use for the benefit of our teeming clients who are principally poor
and needy from both far and near.
donation touched Mr. Edward Asadu,
also a businessman and a native of Agogo, A/A so much so that he promised to
acquire one additional incubator for the hospital.
By the Paediatric Specialist in – charge assessment, the unit would need about six (6) incubators for effectiveness and efficiency. This would reduce the Pre-term case fatality rate to its barest minimum.
