COMMISSIONING OF ASTRAZENECA NEBULISATION STATION

On Wednesday, August 11, 2021, a team from AstraZeneca commissioned an Asthma Nebulisation Station at the Accident and Emergency Unit of Presbyterian Hospital, Agogo.

The opening of the nebulisation station was part of the Africa PUMUA Initiative, which is AstraZeneca’s innovative programme committed to redefining asthma care in Africa.

The nebulistaion station was equipped with two spirometres and peak flow metres with chairs and desks and a television set to show educational videos on how to manage an asthmatic crisis and other important health challenges.

Mr. Mawuli Atiemo, the AstraZeneca Country Manager for Ghana, mentioned that Presbyterian Hospital, Agogo was the first Presbyterian Hospital to have been equipped with the nebulisation stations. 

The General Manager of the Presbyterian Health Service, Asante Akyem Area, Mr. Alex Kesse Nyamesa, thanked the AstraZeneca Team for putting up such a great initiative.  He stated that the introduction of the nebulisation stations was an excellent way of delivering accessible, acceptable and affordable health care to people living with asthma especially in a rural setting like Agogo.
