CONSTRUCTION OF AN ULTRAMODERN INCINERATOR

Presbyterian hospital, Agogo on February 07, 2021 commenced the construction of an ultramodern incinerator with financial assistance from Ghana Gas Company Limited. The construction of the ultramodern incinerator was part of the hospital’s goal to inculcate environmentally friendly practices especially in its waste management while delivering exceptional health care.
The construction of the incinerator was completed on August 27, 2021 after which there was a commissioning and handing over by Elixir International Ghana Limited, the company in charge of the construction.
The General Manager of Presbyterian hospital, Agogo, Mr. Alex Kesse Nyamesa, in his speech expressed his appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Gas Company Limited for coming to the aid of the hospital. He also mentioned that, the hospital prides itself as a distinctive health facility in the country with an incinerator endowed with a Scrubber system. Specifically all obnoxious gases are chemically treated before leaving the chimney through “wet scrubbing”.
During the ceremony, the Chief Engineer of Elixir International Ghana Limited stressed on the incinerator’s mode of operation, making it known that staff have been fully trained on how to use the equipment.
